Hi! My name is Courtney and I'm a sophomore at Northwestern University. I'm studying communication disorders and art history, and I'm an active member of the Gamma chapter of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. I'm inspired by blogs like The Daybook, Cupcakes and Cashmere, and Young House Love. My style is crisp, timeless, and colorful with vintage flair. My design philosophy comes from an art history course I took last year, and I still haven't found a better one. I give William Morris, a 19th century British textile designer, all the credit, especially because he was way ahead of his time in terms of style. He said that you should have nothing in your house that is not useful or beautiful. I seek out items that are both functional and pretty, and if I can't find what I'm looking for, I make it myself. When I'm not studying, you can find me reorganizing my Pinterest boards, baking banana bread, discovering new surfaces to glue rhinestones onto, figuring out how Twitter works (yes, still), searching for loose change to buy Diet Coke, teaching Zumba classes, or watching Toddlers and Tiaras. Follow me on Twitter (@misscourtneyem); I promise I'll master it soon!
