Extra! Extra! Paint all about it!
One of my absolute favorite accessories for every season is my nails. They're a blank canvas for all sorts of things that always look great paired with the rocking outfits I'm sure you're all wearing. Nail painting techniques have been popping up everywhere from Pinterest to some of my favorite magazines like Seventeen. One of my favorite new nail trends I've seen is: newspaper print nails. It's very easy and incredibly cute. Try it out!
You'll need a base coat/top coat, a matte color (any color will do but light pastels and greys work best), newspaper clippings snipped into nail size pieces and rubbing alcohol.
Begin with clean, cut and polish free nails. Apply a clear base coat, then two coats of your polish. Once your polish has dried completely, dip your nail into the rubbing alcohol. While your nail is still wet from the alcohol, put the newspaper clipping onto your nail. Be careful! If you slip the snippet then the words become a muddled mess. But no worries, while your nail is still wet you can wipe away any imperfections. The longer you hold the newspaper to your nail, the darker the print will be. I held mine on for 5-10 seconds. Carefully peel the newspaper away and voila! Newspaper nails! I topped mine off with a top coat seal, because the print wipes away easily if there isn't one.
So go forth and get trendy! This is a very easy way to add spunk to every day outfits and amp up evening wear. Plus, they're a great conversation starter! Add me on Facebook and Twitter and let me know how yours turn out!
