This is the time of year when everybody wants the perfect beach bod. Everybody tries to stay fit while still indulging in their favorite summer snacks. This can sometimes be hard with all the delicious food and drinks served at grad parties, summer barbeques and on vacations. I am all for snacks that are healthy, low in fat but still delectable. This can also be turned into a fun summer activity by trying new creations or making a picnic for the beach.
Below are 3 tasty yet healthy snacks.
1. Caprese Salad
- Fresh mozzarella
- Basil leaves
- Teaspoon olive oil
Slice tomato and mozzarella into thin slices. Alternate tomato, mozzarella, and basil onto plate. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
2. Fruit Kabobs
- Cubed Peaches or Pears
Take listed fruits (or any other fruit of choice) and put them onto a wooden kabob stick. Great for the beach!
3. Strawberry and Cream Cheese or Banana and Peanut Butter Sandwich
- Strawberries or Banana
- Low-fat Cream Cheese or Peanut Butter
- Wheat Bread
Spread your choice of cream cheese or peanut butter on two slices of wheat bread. Add strawberries or bananas. Place two pieces of bread together, cut in half and eat!
