And the countdown begins…well at least it has for me. Only a few days left of classes and a million tests but then it is SPRING BREAK.
In high school, I never did the whole spring break thing to the Bahamas, but this year my friends and I are going to Punta Cana. We are going through Xtreme Trips, but I have heard that Student City is just as reliable too.
Here a few items that everyone should pack for spring break: Suntan lotion, granola bars and almonds to bring with you for a healthy snack by the pool. Make sure to drink tons of water throughout the day, not just daiquiris!
As for what to pack? Try and keep it minimal because that way it is not as hard to lose things. Bring 3-4 bathing suits, and 2-3 cover-ups. You might want to also bring a pair of clothes to lounge around in. When it comes to going out clothes, I would suggest not bringing your favorite outfits. I cannot even imagine how crowded the clubs will be, between the heat and how many people will be there, it is very likely your clothes can be ruined.
As for shoes? Flats, heels, or wedges? For me, someone who is not very tall, I plan on packing wedges versus heels. Trying to walk around in the sand in heels is very difficult, trust me, so bring those cute wedges you have for the summertime. You will not regret it and they will be so much easier to walk in.
Alright, now that you know what to pack, here comes the little Jewish mother in me. Everyone please be safe. My friends and I planned a buddy system where we each are sticking together and making sure no one goes home alone or is ever alone. Whether you are going to Punta Cana, South Beach, Mexico or wherever please be safe, the place is foreign to you and it is not your college campus where it is ‘ok’ to walk home alone!
At the same time, have the best time and be sure to comment on this post about funny Spring Break stories (I know you will have some!)
