Fluorescent lighting can be harsh, especially in a bed or dorm room. There are plenty of fun alternatives to light up a room. One of the best types of light for a bedroom is a cute lamp on your nightstand (instead of having to jump out of bed to turn off the ceiling light!). I found one of my favorite lamps at a local second hand store, but there are cute ones all over the place. A patterned one or one in a funky shape adds more flare to the room.  Another creative way to light up your space is with twinkle lights. They give the room a cozy feeling while also creating a neat look.
