What’s so bad about liberal arts, anyways?
As a soon-to-be college graduate, job seeker, and student of the liberal arts, I must admit, the odds are not in my favor. Don't get me wrong, I love absolutely everything about my major and I've absolutely had the best college experience possible. But, it's difficult to ignore the headlines and the snarky remarks from family friends and random strangers that the subject and the expensive schooling that I've devoted three and a half years of studying to is essentially worthless. Lucky for me, my major, psychology, makes it on the list of the top 11 majors with the highest unemployment. The statistics are a little daunting. Over half of humanities majors under 25 were either unemployed or underemployed.
