My favorite part of being home is MY CLOSET! I never realized how wonderful it was to have my own large closet, until I had to cram my favorite items into a tiny dorm closet. My closet is my sanctuary and it is very important for it to be clean and organized at all times. For this reason, I tackled the project of redoing my closet. The problem I have always had with organizing is that no matter how much room I have in my closet, I fill it up. As I was cleaning out my closet, I realized that I went from hoarding stuffed animals as a child to now hoarding clothing as an adult.

The first thing I did was got rid of all the clothing that I have not worn in over a year. Everyone has those items that they seem to hold on to way past their wearable date. If you have to think about the last time you wore an item then it is time for it to be donated.

As far as shoes go, I already had one shoe rack, but that was not nearly enough for all of my shoes. I bought another and stacked them. I also bought other shoe racks at Target for $10 each. Using a bunch of these inexpensive shoe racks is an easy and chic way to display your shoes.

My new favorite part of my closet is the top shelf. What used to be home to an embarrassing amount of stuffed animals is now a shelf dedicated to my favorite designers.

I was inspired by a picture I saw on Pinterest.

This project was so simple. I decided to do this project because I had a pretty Kate Spade packaging from an iPhone case that I wanted to display in a creative way. First, I bought a collection of basic frames from Target. These ranged from $2 to $4. Then I printed some of my favorite designer pictures and put them in the frames.

I absolutely love my new closet, but it is always a work in progress for me. I hope these tips and ideas help everyone conquer their closets!
