Do you like to go antiquing? I understand it’s not for everyone (my boyfriend, for example), but I really enjoy it.

As a little girl, I used to love poking through my grandmother’s jewelry box, looking at her delicate handkerchiefs, colorful beaded necklaces and ornate pins. I think one of the reasons I enjoy browsing antique stores is because it stirs fond memories.

Whether you go to school in the city or a rural town, get off campus to a quiet neighborhood and see what treasures you can find. Antique stores and consignment shops often have great bargains. Keep your eyes peeled for old postcards, vintage prints, unique jewelry and dishes.

Here are some of my favorite discoveries from a recent trip to Navasota, Texas.

FYI, I snapped some of these shots in specialty boutiques. You won’t necessarily find great bargains in this type of store, but it sure is fun to browse!
